The Ibsen Scholarships award innovative projects in the field of drama and performing arts projects and act as incentives for critical discourse in terms of existential and society-related material about Henrik Ibsen and his plays. Scholarship fund of 1 million NOK (about 130,000 U.S. Dollars Euro/170.000) will be given projects around the world. Scholarships apply to individuals, organizations or institutions in the arts community and culture.
The Ibsen Scholarships are awarded annually and applications are subject to supervision by an appointed jury. The Ibsen scholarship was initiated by the Norwegian government and will be distributed for the fifth time in 2012. Ibsen Award has so far handed over scholarships to 15 projects in 11 countries.
The winners of The Ibsen Scholarships 2012 will be presented at Skien International Ibsen Conference on September 10th and 11th in Skien, Norway.
